First trip into Philadelphia

Current Mood: happy and tired
I've just come back from my first trip to Philadelphia .

It was a lot of fun. I drove myself, my two sisters and denephew and denice to the center of Philadelphia - the historical center.
Driving in America is strange. It's not strange like driving in England, where everything is on the left, but things seem a little... off.
Sort of like playing a game where the rules are slightly different to those you are familiar with, but you're not sure in what way.
I guess with a bit more experience, I'll get used to it.

I took my new camera with me. I like it. I like it a lot!
I took nearly 200 pictures over a period of about 6 hours ;)
Obviously, I'll be throwing out about 90% of them, but I like the flexibility of being able to take as many pictures as I like without caring.
As soon as I install the software of the camera on Jade and Rami's computer, I'll transfer the pictures and add a few to the journal.

Going round historical Philadelphia is like going round the Old City of Jerusalem, but with the American declaration of independence and history instead of Judaism. Every street corner has a muse am or a historical house where someone who was central to the process of building America.
The most famous son of Philadelphia is Benjamin Franklin and there are many "imitators" walking around the city.

Out side the Constitution Museum there was a storyteller who told us a charming story about American baseball and a very emotional one about a family of slaves that was separated when they escaped north and was finally reunited lat in life. Shvo and other children were captivated.
We went round the city on a tour tram and saw all the sights. Most recognizable was, of course, the Philadelphia Museum of Art where Rocky ran up the steps...

Returned home, filling up of petrol on the way - I don't know why Americans complain so much - It's not THAT expensive.
Exhausted again... I think I'll have a nap before choosing which pictures to show you.
